Clio R3T Alps Trophy set to start at the Critérium Jurassien
The crews competing in the 2015 Clio R3T Alps Trophy will this Friday head to Delémont in the Swiss canton of Jura for the start of the competition. A unique event, the Critérium Jurassien is contested on a fast, rolling 156km route that is not too hard on the cars and comprises ten timed special stages. The Renault Clio R3T should be able to express all its formidable potential on a course known for its high average speeds. Rain is forecast for the weekend, though that should be no problem for the Michelin tyres fitted on the marque’s cars, which are perfectly equipped to handle the wet. The stage is set then, as the battle for a place in the final of the Clio R3T European Trophy begins.
Burri’s backyard
Hailing from nearby Moutier, Michaël Burri finished second in the overall standings last year and will have Anderson Levratti by his side as he bids for victory. Aiming to stop him from doing just that is the highly experienced Olivier Courtois. Joined by his faithful co-driver Hubert Risser and having prepared for the event in the recent Rallye de Franche-Comté, Olivier Courtois will be determined to pounce on the slightest mistake by Michaël Burri and make his pace count, Meanwhile, Jean-Pierre Gatti and Bertrand Chagot limbered up for the event by taking part in two rallies in neighbouring France, where they had the chance to get to grips with their Renault Clio R3T. Though the pair need to rack up the kilometres to harness the full potential of their new set-up, they possess more than enough experience to be in serious contention this season.
