Happy birthday Albert Costa

A Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Eurocup Megane Trophy champion and a race winner in the Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Albert Costa is celebrating his 25th birthday today.

After graduating from karting to Formula Three, Albert Costa made his career breakthrough in the Formula Renault 2.0, making his debut in Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Formula Renault 2.0 WEC in 2008 and going on to win both titles with Epsilon Euskadi the following year.

Thanks to a 500,000-euro grant he picked up from Renault Sport, the Spanish driver made the step up to the Formula Renault 3.5 Series in 2010. His first win came in his second season, when he finished fourth in the championship standings behind Robert Wickens, Jean-Eric Vergne and Alexander Rossi.

In signing up for the Eurocup Megane Trophy with Oregon Team in 2012, Albert Costa became one of the few drivers to have competed in three World Series by Renault categories, and went on to win the title courtesy of seven wins in 14 races.

He continues to play a very active part in the World Series by Renault, passing on his advice to a number of drivers. All our teams wish him a very happy birthday.
