Since 2008 Renault has been competing with the Fluence in the hugely popular Super TC 2000, an Argentinian touring car championship. In fact, Renault has long been part of the TC 2000, with the R18 competing in the series in the 1980s and the Fuego scoring eight consecutive title wins between 1986 and 1993.

It is no coincidence, then, that the Sandero R.S. made its first public appearance at the Copa de las Marcas Petrobras, an event in which Renault was making its return after an eight-year absence and which pits together models derived from popular production vehicles made by broad-line car manufacturers. The marque entered a Renault Fluence for the event, with Brazilian Formula One legend Rubens Barrichello at the wheel.

Elsewhere, Renault Argentina has been supporting the French marque’s single-seater formulas for more than 35 years now. Representing a springboard to the upper echelons of motorsport at national and then international level, they have already provided some 1,500 drivers with valuable experience.

Renault Argentina also plays an active role in rally, taking part in the Dakar Rally between 2013 and 2015, with the support of Renault Sport. The event gave the Renault Duster an outstanding platform across Argentina, Chile, Peru and Bolivia.
