Olivier Courtois aiming to boost his Clio R3T Alps Trophy challenge

Driving in unknown territory, Olivier Courtois and Hubert Risser forced Michael Burri and Anderson Levratti to pull out all the stops to win the Criterium Jurassien. While the duo are not familiar with the route at the Rallye du Chablais – round two of the 2015 Clio R3T Alps Trophy – they will be making every effort to take the championship lead from Michael Burri. Featuring 159 kilometres of timed sections, the Rallye du Chablais is a tricky and demanding event run on fast, narrow lanes and two-lane mountain roads offering some steep descents. The competition promises to be intense, and you can find all the information on the event and the list of entrants at www.clior3.com

Positivity the key word for Simon Rossel ahead of the Rallye du Chablais, a Swiss Rally Championship event

Simon Rossel’s first outing in the Renault Clio R3T ended in disappointment when he had to retire from the Criterium Jurassien. The Swiss Junior Rally champion was buoyed by his impressive start to the event, however, and was in upbeat mood as he looked forward to the Rallye du Chablais.

“I’ve done a lot of work with the onboard cameras from the Criterium and thanks to the support we’re getting this season, we’ve been able to identify the positive points and the things we have to work on in order to get better,” said Rossel, whose Swiss Junior Rally Championship win earned him a fully funded programme comprising the four Swiss Championship rallies held in Switzerland. “Laurent Reuche really helps us with that and we’re very lucky to be able to draw on his wisdom and vast experience. Even though I feel bad, I am positive and I know that going off the road is just something that happens when you’re learning the ropes, though I could have done without it. I’ll be heading to the start line at the Rallye du Chablais anxious to learn and giving everything I’ve got to make sure that everyone involved in the programme is rewarded for their work. We’re giving ourselves time to progress and that’s what we’re aiming for at this second meeting.”

He added : “We’ve got a fantastic programme and it’s a real privilege to be driving with this kind of set-up. The fact we’re here is all down to Renault Sport Technologies, Renault Suisse, Auto Sport Suisse, Pirelli and Chazel. There are a number of other partners you don’t hear about so much, and I’m very grateful to them too, like ValJob, a company providing temporary and permanent employment services and which has been really committed to junior drivers in Switzerland for several seasons now. My employers, Garage-Carrosserie Friedli SA in Payerne, have also been right behind me since I started out. I’ve been very lucky with them. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank them and to remind motorsports lovers that the production version of the Renault Clio R.S. 200 EDC, the car on which the Renault Clio R3T I’m using in rally is based, is now on sale at Garage Friedli and all Renault dealerships in Switzerland.”
