One-two in Pau for Anthoine Hubert

Frenchman Anthoine Hubert pulled off a one-two at this weekend’s Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS race in Pau, France. Making good on his invitation to the race, he racked up both pole positions and back-to-back wins.

Starting off in pole position for the first race, Anthoine Hubert (Tech 1 Racing) kept his lead all the way to the chequered flag to beat out Matevos Isaakyan (JD Motorsport) and Simon Gachet (Tech 1 Racing).

Hubert followed up the following day with an equally strong performance, fending off several attacks by runner-up Brit Jake Hughes (Koiranen GP). Fellow Frenchman Matthieu Vaxivière (Arta Engineering) rounded off the podium.

“It’s a weekend I’ll definitely want to remember,” said Hubert. “Two pole positions and two victories – I couldn’t have asked for more. Knowing I did it on one of the most difficult tracks makes it that much more gratifying.”

The next round of the Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS takes place in one week, with drivers facing off on the Red Bull Ring track on 23 and 24 May.
