Patrice Ratti : “Here’s to a great tenth season !”

Speaking on a weekend when Formula Renault 3.5 Series, Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Eurocup Clio came together at Motorland Aragón, Renault Sport Technologies’ Managing Director Patrice Ratti voiced his expectations of World Series by Renault’s tenth season.

What are your feelings ahead of the 2014 World Series by Renault season ?
“I think we can expect a very good season. The Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 and Eurocup Clio championships start this weekend and I am sure that the competition will be tight in both of them. In Formula Renault 3.5 Series, meanwhile, Carlos Sainz Jr dominated the first meeting at Monza, and we’ll have to see if he can continue in that vein here. Yesterday, for the first time ever, we had 19 drivers finishing within a second of each other in collective testing, which just goes to show how intense the competition will be here too.”

What can we expect from season ten of WSR ?
“This is an anniversary season for World Series by Renault and we have a lot of surprises in store, though I can’t reveal what they are just yet. What I can tell the fans, though, is that we have a lot of entertainment lined up for them, including Jean Ragnotti’s ever-popular show, of course, and the Renault Village, which will be laying on some new interactive attractions. All in all, we should have a great season together.”

What can you tell us about WSR’s partners for 2014 ?
“Michelin and Total remain our two loyal partners, which I’m very pleased about. Michelin have developed some very high quality new tyres, and they will also be making their simulator available again in the Village, where it has proved a big success in the past. The agreement with Motorland Aragón continues as well, and we’re also going to be welcomed by the Circuito de Jerez, where the World Series by Renault finale will be held along with the tenth-season anniversary party.”
