Pierre Gasly picks up a special award at the FFSA Motorsport Trophy gala
Just as it does at the end of every year, the French Motorsports Federation (FFSA) brought together the sport’s leading lights to salute the champions of 2014 at its Motorsport Trophy gala in Paris.
The FFSA’s Steering Committee and its chairman Nicolas Deschaux were there to hand out awards to the men and women who have been flying the flag for French motorsport on the international scene this year.
Attended by a 1,000 people and held at Les Folies Bergère, the event saw 2014 Formula Renault 3.5 Series runner-up Pierre Gasly step up to collect a special award from Jean Todt, the president of the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA).
Respectively represented by François Sicard and Philippe Sinault, 2014 Formula Renault 3.5 Series team champions DAMS and European Le Mans Series winners Signatech-Alpine both won a Motorsport Trophy.
And, having just made his testing debut in Formula One, Formula Renault 3.5 Series driver Esteban Ocon rounded off a memorable few days by collecting the Golden Steering Wheel Award.
