Renault Sport Technologies sends its sincerest condolences to the family and friends of Jules Bianchi
It is with great sadness that the World Series by Renault and Renault Sport Technologies family learned this morning of this death of Jules Bianchi, aged 25.
Born into a family with a rich history in motorsport, Jules had been competing in single-seater racing for several seasons. He began his racing career in the French Formula Renault 2.0 Championship in 2007, in which he immediately demonstrated his considerable talent behind the wheel. After gaining experience in other formulas, Jules made a one-off debut to Formula Renault 3.5 in Monaco, before challenging for the title in 2012.
A member of the Ferrari Driver Academy, Jules joined the Marussia F1 Team in 2013, scoring the team’s first ever points in F1 at Monaco in 2014. After finally succumbing to the severe head injuries he sustained in an accident at last year’s Japanese Grand Prix, Jules Bianchi leaves behind his kindness, his discretion and his unique talent.
The thoughts of everyone at Renault Sport are with Jules Bianchi’s family and loved ones at this painful and difficult time.
