Ukyo Sasahara and Jack Aitken star in Formula Renault 2.0
Renault Sport’s international championships got back under way last weekend, with the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup kicking off at Monza and the Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS doing likewise at Imola.
Japanese driver Ukyo Sasahara (ART Junior Team) drew first blood in the Formula Renault 2.0 Northern European Cup, winning the opening race from Ignazio D’Agosto (Manor MP Motorsport) and new boy Max Defourny (Strakka Racing).
Louis Deletraz (Josef Kaufmann Racing) of Switzerland took the chequered flag the following day, ahead of Ukyo Sasahara and France’s Valentin Hasse-Clot (Strakka Racing).

On pole for the season’s first Formula Renault 2.0 ALPS race at Imola, Frenchman Anthoine Hubert (Tech 1 Racing) took the honours ahead of team-mate and compatriot Simon Gachet (Tech 1 Racing) and British driver Jack Aitken (Koiranen GP).
In race two it was Aitken who topped the podium, with Anthoine Hubert and Jake Hughes (Koiranen GP) completing the top three.
