"Volant des Chefs" : top chefs swap their hats for helmets !
Whether behind the wheel or in the kitchen, racing drivers and top chefs both need to show incredible precision and powers of concentration. These two worlds are soon to come together again at another edition of the "Volant des Chefs" !
Exceptionally-gifted drivers and talented chefs will swap roles on 13-14 November at an event that promises to be friendly and fun. After previous events in Italy and Champagne, the merry band is due to meet at the Paul Ricard Circuit. Christophe Bacquié, the two Michelin-starred chef at the Hôtel du Castellet, will therefore be playing at home !
As for the drivers, the list of entrants is pretty impressive : Jean Ragnotti, Bernard Darniche, the Beltoise brothers and François Chatriot have quite a competitive record between them. Coached by the chefs, the drivers have to come up with a dish that will be blind-tasted by a very demanding panel of judges. One couple may prove unbeatable at this challenge : in the Belmondo family, Luana can cook and Paul can drive…
The following day, the chefs will have to demonstrate their driving skills on the Provençale track. They will race each other against the clock in their Clio R.S. or Clio Cup. None of the contestants wants to get ‘beaten’ by a fellow chef : Parisian baker Jean-Luc Poujauran has already shown his determination to get the better of celebrated chef Jacques Maximin on social media ! Jerome Bocuse, who took over from his father Paul, will travel especially from the United States. And Guillaume Gomez, head chef at the Élysée Palace, is just as hungry for success, as they say in the paddock...
