Clio Cup, Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4, Clio Rally5, Clio Rally6, and Clio RX... Nearly 200 fifth-generation Clios were in action this past weekend, with many victories on various playgrounds across Europe.

Clio Cup Series

The Rangoni Corse team made its mark at round four of the Clio Cup Series calendar on home turf in Emilia-Romagna. With a victory apiece at the Autodromo di Imola, Gabriele Torelli and Anthony Jurado relaunched their title bids as the season reached the halfway point. The Italian also consolidated his lead in the Clio Cup España while another of his teammates, Ronnie Stefani, shared the honours with Alex Lancellotti in the Clio Cup Italia. Many of the competitors will meet again in less than two weeks at Misano (July 18-20).

Clio Trophy France Asphalte & French Rally Championship

Winners of last year’s Clio Trophy France Asphalte round at the Rallye Rouergue Rodez Aveyron Occitanie, Julien Deslauriers Sablonnière and Amandine Brunel, repeated their success, leading from start to finish and beating the overall leader, Yoan Corberand, and his co-driver Pauline Compozieux. Melvin Rabilloud and Enzo Mahinc completed the podium and won the Junior category in a thrilling finish. Pascal and Caroline Bérard (Gentlemen) and Charlotte Olea and Cécile Pages (Women) secured their second wins of the season in their respective categories. Round three of the season takes place at the Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine (4-6 September).

The roads of Aveyron also hosted round five of the French Rally Championship. Vincent Leduc and Caroline Puel led a Clio Rally3 hat-trick in its category. Clio Rally4 posted several best times in the Michelin Amateurs Trophy with Quentin Ribaud and Loan Biagetti before settling for fourth place with Florian Picchioni and Manon Perrin. Lastly, Clio Rally6 demonstrated its potential on its national scene debut, with Arthur Pelamourgues and Bastien Pouget monopolizing the best times in FR6 before they went off.

Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto

The Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto continues to grow, with 14 crews lining up at the start of the Rally Recalvi Rías Baixas in round two of the season. Among them, Juan Manuel Mañá and David Fernández came out on top, finishing ahead of Álvaro Pérez and Patricia Saiz. José Javier Pérez and Daniel Rivera completed the podium and now lead the general classification. After leading for much of the rally and with first place in the championship within their sights, Francisco Puertas and David Nieto ultimately had to settle for fifth place and will try to bounce back at Rally Villa de Llanes (September 26-27).

FIA European Rally Championship & Italian Rally Championship

Clio Rally3 secured its fourth consecutive podium finish in ERC3 with second place for Poland’s Hubert Kowalczyk and Jarosław Hryniuk at Rally di Roma Capitale. Their countrymen Błażej Gazda and Michał Jurgała finished fifth in both the ERC3 and RC3 categories. Thanks to their performances, the two crews respectively moved up to third and fifth place in the championship.

On the same roads, Ludwig Zigliani and Sara Montavoci led a sweep of the top three for Clio Rally5 in its category while also winning R1 in the Italian championship. Clio Rally4 finished runner-up in STAR Rally4 Top with Michael Rendina and Alice Caprile. Lastly, Clio Rally5 excelled in the CRZ version of the event, scoring one-two finishes in Rally5 and U25 thanks to the duos Luca De Marco − Giuseppe Piccirilli and Emanuele Bruscino − Francesco Cicciarelli.

Swiss Rally Championship

The Swiss Championship was in action at Rallye de Bourgogne Côte Chalonnaise, where Clio Rally3 scored a one-two category finish with the crews of David Boissenin - Romain Depeux and Thierry Cassard - Florian Guichard. Also present, Clio Rally5 won the Rally5 class with Alexandre Dubois and Damien Gulat and the Michelin Alps Trophy for two-wheel drive cars with Yann Héritier and Léa Magnin, who also finished third in the Swiss Cup.

French Junrio Rallycross Championship

There was also plenty of action with Clio RX. Already a winner last year on the Pont-de-Ruan track, Kelig Gouesbet returned for more. Under torrential rain, the Breton held off Dylan Léger, the new championship leader, by one point ahead of Gautier Sarhy, who finished fifth this weekend during the seven-lap finale. The next round takes place at Kerlabo (26-27 July).

French Rally Cup

The Rallye Charlemagne, hosting both the French Cup and the French Second Division Championship, saw Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 take the honours with the duos Frédéric Roussel - Hakima Hmidache and Louis Bottin - Titouan Andreux. Clio Rally4 also claimed a podium finish with Sylvain Fouteret and Guillaume Fouquet.

Also in France, the Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 impressed at Rallye Ruppéen, with victories for Jérôme Jacquot and Marielle Grandemange, as well as Frédéric Aizier and Sophie Erhart. The Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 were also victorious at Rallye de Saint-Sornin-Leulac, with Franck Chaput and Yann Poursain, as well as Romain Auvert and Maxime Belivier. Lastly, Clément Didier and Rémy Germain dominated the RC5 class in their Clio Rally5 at Rallye de Saint-Marcellin.

And elsewhere…

Clio Rally3 dominated the podium at Rali Ilha Graciosa (Portugal), with João Borges and Flávio Mota winning RC3, finishing second in the Troféu de Asfalto Açores and third in round four of the Azores Championship. Clio Rally4 finished just off the RC4 podium with Emanuel Garcia and Nélson Dinis, while Clio Rally5 won the RC5 category and finished in the top five overall with Gustavo Silva and Jorge Henriques.

Clio Rally4 stood out in another regional competition in Portugal, with Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 winning their respective categories at Rali da Calheta in the Madeira Championship. The former set the pace in RC4 and two-wheel drive with Vasco Silva Jr and Tiago Fernandes, while the latter did the same in RC5 and the Rafael Costa Trophy with André Freitas and Agostinho Bettencourt.

Lastly, Clio Rally5 triumphed in Belgium with Alexander Derez and Barbara Vromman, winners in 2D at the Shortrally TBR. Success also came to Jari Jaakkola in Finland at the EckeröLinjen Sprint.
