From legendary race tracks to demanding special stages, Renault Clio has again shone around the world. Between the crowns awarded in the Clio Cup Series, new winners in the Clio Rally5 trophies, and several overall victories in Europe and South America, we look back on a week full of excitement and success !

Clio Cup Series

With no fewer than 13 titles at stake, the Clio Cup Series season finale lived up to all its billing. Anthony Jurado and Alex Lancellotti shared the honours at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. Still, David Pouget did what was necessary to clinch the title before his GPA Racing squad regained the team trophy on the final lap.

Clio Trophy Galicia

Season three of the Clio Trophy Galicia concluded at Rallye San Froilán. Álvaro Pérez and Paula de Carvalho proved to be the fastest, winning ahead of Iván and Diego Vázquez, the new crew crowned in the Clio Rally5 trophy. Marco Lorenzo and Diego Gil completed the podium.

Clio Trophy Portugal

João Rodrigues and Bruno Carvalho secured their third victory at Rallye Vidreiro Centro de Portugal, consolidating their lead in the general classification ahead of the season finale at Rally de Lisboa (30 October-1 November). The venue for the final round of the Portuguese Championship, the event also saw Pedro Gastão and Marco Macedo win the Junior category and take the Junior RC5 national title in their Clio Rally5.

World Rally Championship

Tom Pellerey and Hervé Faucher, the best Junior crew in the 2024 Clio Trophy France Terre, made their fourth WRC start at the Central European Rally. Unfortunately, the pair got caught out on the opening stage, but emerged unscathed from the accident. Three other models were present, including that of Germany’s Hermann Gaßner Jr and Ursula Gaßner, who posted several top-three times before finishing seventh in RC3.

Italian Junior Rally Championship

The Italian Junior Rally Championship and its field of Clio Rally5 cars prepared by Motorsport Italia saw its sixth different winner from six rounds at Rally Sanremo. Sebastian Dallapiccola and co-driver Fabio Andrian secured their maiden victory and a title that comes with a 2026 ERC Junior drive.

Meanwhile, the Italian season finale saw Jesse Kallio and Ville Pynnönen triumph in RC3 and Rally3 in their Clio Rally3, whilst Michael Rendina and Nicolò Lazzarini finished on the Pirelli STAR Rally4 podium in their Clio Rally4. The 2024 Clio Trophy France Terre laureates, Benjamin Boulenc and Chloé Barozzi-Gauze, won the GR Yaris Rally Cup title, again demonstrating the incredible level of competition among the trophy’s entrants.

ARA National Championship

Clio Rally3 continued to impress in the United States. Casen Pedersen and Glen Ray finished fifth on the gravel stages of the Lake Superior Performance Rally in their debut with the model. Their performance earned them a podium finish in L4WD and LN4. Sean Donnelly and Zach Pfeil, who skipped this event, won the Pirelli Privateer Cup thanks to their earlier-season performances in their Clio Rally3.

Brazilian Rally Championship

Clio Rally4 added another national title to its haul, this time in Brazil. Despite retiring from Rally Nova Itália, Leandro Brustolin and Andrey Karpinski secured the Rally 4 crown at the end of a season marked by an overall victory and three other podium finishes for the various Renault models.

Romanian Rally Championship

Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4, and Clio Rally5 shone at Rally Brașov. Aleksandar Tomov and Nedialko Sivov won RO 3, whilst Bogdan Minea and Gheorghe Dumitru finished on the podium in RO 4 and front-wheel drive aboard their Clio Rally4. At the same time, Eduard Grigoriu and George Grigorescu won this round within the Clio Rally5 challenge.

Slovenian Rally Championship

Mitja Velkavrh and Nina Velkavrh Gorenc won their classes at Rally Soča Valley and finished third in the Junior category with their Clio Rally5. The Slovenian driver will compete for the D1 title against Luka Brus in another Clio Rally5. The asphalt roads were also kind to Clio Rally3, which finished sixth overall with Mitja Glasenčnik and Matej Pistotnik, who have clinched the national D2 title.

Uruguayan Rally Championship

Renault Clio secured its fifth overall victory in seven rallies this season at Rally de Mariscala. In their Clio Rally4, Luigi Contin and Cecilia Cedrés took the lead from SS2 onwards and set the best time on six of the ten special stages to take the win. Clio Rally5 also won in its category with Federico Quintela and Joaquín Varela.

French Rally Cup

Lisieux and Normandy hosted the French Rally Cup Final. After a thrilling battle, Clio Rally3 emerged victorious in its class with Arnaud Gautier and Édouard Dubos. Clio Rally5 was not to be outdone, with Andrea Pelini and Jean-Louis Hottelet taking second place in the Junior category and Margot Pottier and Flora Mercière securing a podium finish in the Women’s category. Frédéric Misiek and Adam Thouez finished in the top five in their Clio Rally4.

Greek Gravel Rally Cup

The Livadias Rally Sprint, round three of the season, saw Clio Rally3 continue its impressive run in Greece. The model dominated the fastest times on muddy terrain, notably with Dimitrios Paleokostas and Andreas Vigkos, who won overall. Panagiotis Paradeisis and Mihalis Fragkou completed the Clio Rally3 grand slam of stage victories by winning SS2 before retiring in the final kilometres.

And elsewhere…

Clio Rally3 scored a 1-2 overall with the duos of Pekka Keski-Korsu and Antti Haapala, and Leevi Lassila and Mikko Lukka at the Jyväskylän Suurajot-1000 Lakes Rally (Finland).

In Italy, Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 won their respective categories at Rally di Taormina, with Ernesto Riolo - Giulia Marin and Francesco Foscolo - Salvatore Sparacino, and at Rally Terra Sarda, with Angelo Balzano - Mirko Valentino and Karlo Pelicar - Lina Cukrov. Rally Terra Sarda also saw Mirco Lorrai and Eleonora Murgia win in their Clio Rally5 among the two-wheel-drive cars competing in the Tour European Rally.

The same success was achieved in Belgium with Timothy Van Parijs - Clementine Van Parijs and Joachim Dequeker - Jonas Vanderhaeghe at the Hemicuda Rally, as well as in Spain with José Bello - Cristian González and Zury Rico - Tomás Pérez at Rallye Orvecame Isla de Tenerife.

Lastly, Alexander Kazmierzak and Colin Peter drove their Clio Rally5 to victory in the Rund ums Dubbeglas Rally (Germany), as did Brian Capelli and Alessandro Pozzi in the Sanremo Leggenda Rally (Italy).
