From unbearable suspense in Clio Trophy France Asphalte and Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto to new successes for Clio Rally3, Clio Rally4, and Clio Rally5, it was yet another exciting weekend for Renault !

World Rally Championship

Two Clio Rally3s contested the inaugural Rally Saudi Arabia. On this all-new event, the model finished in the top three in RC3 and WRC3 with local driver Saeed Al-Mouri and his Jordanian co-driver Ata Al-Hmoud. The only all-female crew at the start, Burcu Çetinkaya and Fabrizia Pons had their momentum cut short during the first leg before climbing back up to fourth place.

Clio Trophy France Asphalte & French Rally Championship

The season-long duel between Yoan Corberand and Julien Deslauriers Sablonnière went all the way to the final special stage of the calendar at Rallye du Var, with the former coming out on top. The season’s honour roll included Lucas Zielinski (Juniors), Pascal Bérard (Gentlemen), Charlotte Oléa (Women), David Auto Compétition (Teams), Groupe Bertrand (Renault Network Challenge), and Christophe Truchet (Clio Full Challenge).

On the national scene, Guillaume Tardy and Caroline Puel led a Clio Rally3 sweep of the top four in its category. The model also finished on the podium in the Women’s category with Allison Viano and Christelle Bou-Meunier. Lastly, Arthur Pelamourgues and Bastien Pouget scored three stage wins in their Clio Rally4.

Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto

As in France, the Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto reached a thrilling conclusion on the special stages of Rally Ciudad de Valencia. Retaking the lead in the penultimate special stage, Nicolás Cabanes and co-driver Javier Moltó won by 1.2s ahead of Francisco Puertas and Sergio Fernández to claim the title. As a sign of the level of competitiveness achieved by the two crews, two Renault Clio Rally5s finished on the overall podium for the first time in a Spanish Tarmac Rally Championship event.

Belgian Rally Championship

2022 Clio Trophy Belgium winner Benoit Verlinde enjoyed more success on the national scene with Clio Rally3 at the Spa Rally. Co-driven by Bert Feys, he led a one-two-three finish for the model in RC3 whilst finishing 14th overall. Clio Rally5 won in RC5 with Jean Beaupain and Jonathan Lemaire, while finishing second overall and first in RC5 with Jonathan Georges and Elisabeth Fagnant in the Second Division.

Italian Gravel Rally Championship

The Italian Gravel Rally Championship concluded at Rally del Brunello. Gibonen and Giordano Gregori finished on the RC3 podium in their Clio Rally3, whilst Giorgio Sisani and Cristian Pollini took the RC5 victory in their Clio Rally5. Michela Campostrini and Paola Ferrari won in the Women class with their Clio Rally5, clinching the ACI Sport Femminile Cup.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally5 continues to rack up victories in the French Cup. Last weekend, Damien Vaissière and Sylvestre Expece led a sweep of the podium at Rallye Cœur des Vignobles, beating the crews of Julien Toniutti and Guillaume Duplan, and Batiste Moisset and Rémi Mejane.

In Italy, Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 won at Rally della Valpolicella e Val d’Adige with the duos of Yuri Sartori and Mattea Modenini (Rally3 and RC3N) and Michele Falezza and Gianmaria Zerbato (Rally5). A similar double victory was secured at the Ronde Valli Imperiesi with Giuseppe Nicoletti and Marco Zaccone (Rally3) and Fabiano Cassini and Samuele Cassini (Rally5). The two models also won at the Pavia Rally Circuit, with Massimo Ruggeri and Sara Jonuzi (Rally3), Harshana Ratnayake and Manuela Pellati (Rally5), and Carola Parodi and Valentina Carmignano (Women’s).

Clio Rally5 also triumphed in Portugal, with victories in P2-4 and two-wheel drive for Carlos Marreiros and Ricardo Barreto at Rali de Tavira, and a class victory for Pedro Pereira Jr and Martim Santos at Rali Travocar. Meanwhile, Tiago Nunes and Nuno Nóbrega drove their Clio Rally4 to the P2-4 podium at the Rampa do Paul do Mar. And Clio Rally5 won its group with Francisco Valdés and Angel Muriedas at Rallye Ribamontán al Mar (Spain).
