From Europe to South America, Renault Clio continues to rack up the wins in the height of summer. With a third podium in the FIA ERC3, stunning performances in Uruguay, and further successes in several countries, Renault is enjoying a string of impressive results across the globe.
FIA European Rally Championship
Less than three weeks after crashing in Poland, Lucas Zielinski, Ewen Leenhardt and David Auto Compétition bounced back in style at the Barum Czech Rally Zlín. The Clio Rally3 crew supported by Alpine Racing and Michelin won six of the twelve special stages contested on the Czech tarmac – including the Power Stage – to secure their third podium finish of the campaign despite a time penalty following a check in a road section.
Thanks to this performance, the top Juniors in the 2025 Clio Trophy France Asphalte season have climbed back up to second place in the FIA ERC3 and remain in contention for the title. The event also saw Jan Schmied and Pavel Polák finish runners-up in the RC3/RGT class in the Czech national championship with Clio Rally3. Meanwhile, Michal Vaňhara and Vojtěch Mudrák finished in the top five of the two-wheel-drive category aboard Clio Rally4, whilst Michal Kolář and Jan Kubala took top honours in RC5 with Clio Rally5.
Finnish Rally Championship
Round six of the calendar, the SM Ralli Kitee, saw Clio Rally3 sweep the top four places in SM2. Class winners Leevi Lassila and Juha Lummaa finished sixth overall in the event. Despite having to retire, Kanta Yanaguida and Ville Mannisenmäki still lead the title race, where the top four contenders are all driving Renault’s four-wheel-drive model. Clio Rally4 was also competing at the sharp end of its class before the crash of Hiroya Minowa and Juho Koski-Lammi, whilst Clio Rally5 took the win with Jari Jaakkola and Niko Nylund, the new leaders of the Rally 5 Cup ahead of the season finale at the Porvoo SM Rally (25–26 September).
Lithuanian Rally Championship
Clio Rally3 scored another victory on the Lithuanian special stages at the Rokiškio Grand Rally. Round four saw Polish crew formed by Artur Długosz and Mateusz Martynek set the pace in RC3 and finish third in LARČ3, consolidating their lead heading into the end of the season. The pair also finished in the top ten in the FIA European Rally Trophy.
Uruguayan Rally Championship
Just one week after starring in Peru, Renault Clio delivered another masterclass in South America, this time in Uruguay. The Rally de las Sierras saw Luigi Contin and Cecilia Cedrés win Rally4 and finish second overall with Clio Rally4, just 48.5s behind the winning Rally2 car after 137.20 kilometres of action. Clio Rally5, the most represented model in the field, was not to be outdone, locking out the top nine in RC4N, led by Ignacio Gardiol and Santiago Cabrera, who also finished on the overall podium in round five of the Uruguayan calendar.
French Rally Cup
The bank holidays didn’t slow the range down in France. Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 secured further victories at Rallye Régional du Sel. Mickaël Caritey - Pauline Chonavel and Thierry Cassard - Mathéo Terret secured a one-two finish in the Rally3 class. At the same time, Alex Florenson - Jofrey Courtet, Baptiste Thomasset - Jules Descharne and Yann Héritier - Olivier Constantin monopolised the Rally5 podium.
And elsewhere
Clio Rally3 finished on the overall podium at round three of the MRF Dansk Rally Sprint Cup Vest (Denmark) with Carsten Jensen and Michael Fasterholdt. At the same event, Clio Rally5 secured a class one-two-three, led by Ulrik Pedersen and Dorte Rosenberg. Clio Rally4 also shone in Sweden, with Simon Andersson and Julia Thulin finishing third overall and first in the two-wheel-drive category at the Snapphanerallyt.
