Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 continue their winning ways around the world with fresh victories from Latvia to North America, via Denmark and numerous Latin countries !
Danish Rally Championship
Clio Rally3 enjoyed a successful return on the tarmac and snow-covered stages of the IMK Vinter Rally, the season opener in Denmark. With a stage win in SS8, the model secured a one-two finish in RC3, while coming within a whisker of the overall podium with the crews of Carsten Jensen - Michael Fasterholdt and Kim Abildgaard - Tobias Abildgaard. Meanwhile, Oliver Sørensen and Claus Amstrup led a Clio Rally5 sweep of the top six in RC5.
Latvian Rally Championship
After finishing runners-up last month at Rally Alūksne, Artur Długosz and Mateusz Martynek exacted revenge to take the lead in the championship by winning the LRK3 class at Rallijs Sarma in their Clio Rally3. The Poles weren’t the only ones to shine, as Estonians Priit Koik and Kristo Tamm finished ahead of several Rally2 cars to finish eighth place overall. Latvians Bruno Blumbergs and Emīls Blūms secured a top-five category result in their Clio Rally4.
North American Rally Championship
Clio Rally3 also excelled in the ARA National Championship and North American Rally Championship. After gaining experience last year, Sean Donnelly and Zach Pfeil launched the model’s second campaign on US soil in fine style with a second-place overall finish at the Sno*Drift Rally. Better still, the duo set the pace to win the L4WD category on the Michigan stages.
French Rally Cup
Clio Rally5 triumphed in France last weekend with Jean-Jacques and Yann Ferrier, leaders of a lockout of the top eight in Rally5 and eighth overall at Rallye des Roches Brunes. On the same roads around Roquebrune-sur-Argens, Franck Chaput and Yann Poursain finished sixth in class in their Clio Rally4.
And elsewhere
Clio Rally3 kept starring in the Finnish winter. Miikka Vuokila finished second in the Tornio Rallisprint, just 5.4s behind the overall winner. Meanwhile, Mika Karppanen and Kati Pereläinen finished third in their class at the start of the Finnish Cup at the Laukaa-Uurainen Talviralli. Lastly, Evgeniy Sukhovenko and Yaroslav Fedorov were victorious in their category at Rally Suvorov (Russia).
Clio Rally4 was equally successful, with Emanuel Martins and João Camacho securing a podium finish on the tarmac of Rampa da Camacha (Portugal). The Clio Rally5 also enjoyed success on Latin asphalt, with a double top ten finish overall and a 1-2 in class led by Manuel Guaggenti and Vincenzo Mascarella at the Racalmuto Rally Experience (Italy), as well as a win for Julio Ramón and Ángela Gili at the Rally Sol de Ponent (Spain).
