The FIA Formula E Championship continues its 2017-2018 season with its return to Europe and the first European round on the brand-new circuit in Rome on Saturday 14th April.

The Renault edams team is delighted to be back in the “old” continent and can’t wait to get to grips with the new layout. On 19th October 2017, the Italian capital hosted a roadshow to celebrate the arrival of the championship.

The 2.85-km Circuito Cittadino dellUR is the second-longest track on the calendar and poses a huge challenge with 21 corners. It is laid out in the modern quarter of the town. The start-line straight is on Via Cristoforo Colombo after which the cars will race round the Obelisco di Marconi and the famous Collosseo Quadrato.

Just before this eagerly-awaited event, the drivers had the immense privilege of meeting his Holiness, Pope François, and received an apostolic blessing before attending the papal audience.

Sébastien Buemi : “I’m very happy to be back in Europe, in particular to discover a new town and a new circuit consisting of a great 2.85-km long layout. We’re really motivated to drive a good race and score points as we’ve been working very hard and we hope it will pay off.”

Nicolas Prost : “The first half of the season was very difficult and disappointing. The gaps are very small and we don’t need much to be back fighting at the front again. I’m going to give my absolute maximum to get back and mix it with the front-runners.”
