Renault’s famous double diamond represents one of motoring’s leading brands and the company’s long history and dedication to the world of motor racing through the Renault Sport division is more than matched by its biggest fans. We all have our reasons for our passions, but we want YOU to tell us what it is you love so much about Renault Sport.

Perhaps like Adrien Charron, who drives a Clio 2 R.S. in the famous Sirius Yellow, your love of motoring and Renault in particular was instilled from an early age. Adrien says his first word was ‘car’ and his passion for all things R.S. came from getting behind the wheel of a pal’s Twingo R.S. Gordini. “I knew from that moment on that I was going to buy a Renault Sport. The spirit of competition, the ingenuity of the concept cars and various models, the family spirit : I loved all of it,” he recalls.

President of the Renault Sport Club in Spain and owner of both a Renault Mégane III R.S. Cup 250 and a Renault Sport Clio 172, Jesus Medina Martin, also came under the influence of Renault from a very early age. “Our family cars were always Renaults – and that rubbed off on me,” he told us. His father aside, Jesus’ other driving hero is, of course, fellow Spaniard and two-time F1TM World Champ, the great Fernando Alonso.

Family connections with Renault go back more than one generation for some R.S. superfans. Yann Monpas’ grandfather worked at the Grand Garage Renault at Place de Clichy, Paris, owned by famed Renault driver Jean Rédélé. Yann’s grandfather got to meet and work with both Amédé Gordini and Jean Ragnotti, so little wonder that the passion for all things R.S. flows strongly through Yann’s veins.

Husband-and-wife team Stéphane and Céline Ogé, meanwhile, believe ‘the family that rallies together, stays together,’ as the couple drive around and compete in their 4 R.S. 280 CV Red Flame. According to Stéphane, only Renault Sport is capable of making such complete sports cars. “Everything is designed to handle the road and provide unique driving sensations, even on a daily basis,” he explains.

Renault’s fame spreads beyond mainland Europe of course, and the brand has fans all over the globe. Over in the UK, driving instructor and Renault Sport Club Facebook group founder Stephen Cunningham told us how much he admires the passion that goes into the design of every Renault Sport car. “Models such as the R26R and R27, among a few others, were limited in number making them not only special but rare,” he says. “Renault Sport always produce cars that offer so much more compared to other manufacturers.” It’s a view that’s shared by the majority of Renault Sport fans around the world.
