More than 200 Clios competed in the special stages last weekend, securing another string of victories and a title in Finland. Here’s a look back at the week’s major successes !

Clio Trophy France Asphalte & French Rally Championship

After getting caught out at Rallye Mont-Blanc Morzine, Yoan Corberand and Pauline Compozieux bounced back at Rallye Cœur de France Région Centre-Val de Loire, beating Julien Deslauriers Sablonnière and Amandine Brunel to reignite the Clio Trophy France Asphalte title race. Lucas Zielinski and Ewen Leenhardt secured their first podium result and their maiden Junior victory this year. Pascal and Caroline Bérard (Gentlemen) and Charlotte Olea and Cécile Pages (Women) continued to dominate their respective categories. Meanwhile, Antoine Bordagaray and Antoine Loiseau triumphed in RC3 in their Clio Rally3, whilst Quentin Ribaud and Loan Biagetti claimed their third victory of the season in the Michelin Amateurs Trophy in their Clio Rally4.

Clio Trophy Spain Asfalto

Juan Manuel Mañá and David Fernández secured their second consecutive victory in the all-Clio Rally5 field, at Rally Villa de Llanes, ahead of Nicolás Cabanes and Andrea Vera. Francisco Puertas and Sergio Fernández completed the podium. With this latest success, Juan Manuel Mañá now leads the general classification ahead of the Rally La Nucía-Mediterráneo (7-8 November).

Clio Trophy Canarias

Jesús Pérez and Aythami Díaz emerged victorious at the Villa de Teror Rally in what was a titanic battle with Jesé Ramos and Armando Rivero, who suffered a puncture in the final kilometres. Walter Delgado and Miguel Reverón completed the podium in this Clio Rally5 trophy. Seventh at the finish, Kevin Kipar retains a one-point lead over Jesús Pérez ahead of the season finale at Rally de Maspalomas (31 October -1 November).

Clio Trophy Galicia

Rallye Comarca do Carballiño hosted the penultimate round of the Clio Trophy Galicia. In a field made up entirely of Clio Rally5s, Ivan and Diego Vázquez claimed their second victory of the season ahead of Yago Martínez and Alex Alonso, and Guillermo Martínez and Ignacio Sayáns. Despite retiring from the race, Álvaro Castro remains at the top of the general classification ahead of the final round at Rallye San Froilán (17-18 October).

Belgian Rally Championship

Both Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 enjoyed victory on the special stages of the East Belgian Rally. Christophe Merlevede and Giljan Vandromme led a Clio Rally3 sweep of the podium in RC3, as did Lény Cols and Pascal Lopes with Clio Rally5 in RC5. Already crowned BRC Trophy champions, the latter also finished runners-up in the Junior category, where they led ahead of competitors entered in higher categories.

Finnish Rally Championship

Jarkko Nikara and Tomiya Maekawa finished second in their class at the SM Seinäjoki Ralli to clinch the SM3 title in their Clio Rally4. Although beaten by a similar model driven by Kanta Yanaguida and Ville Mannisenmäki, the duo still managed to finish ahead of their rivals to secure the crown. The event was also kind to Clio Rally3, which finished second in SM2 with Pekka Keski-Korsu and Hannu Lamminen and third in the Masters with Mikko Nevalainen and Petri Silvennoinen.

German Rally Championship

Carsten Mohe and Andrea Lieber continued their perfect season with Clio Rally3, securing another national RC3 victory at the ADAC Rallye Stemweder Berg. Klaus Werner and Mika Jordan secured a one-two finish for the model in its category, whilst Ernst Kranenburg and Wout De Klerk took top honours in RC in their Clio Rally5. Felix Schumann and Gino Kruhs also shone, finishing fourth in two-wheel drive and in RC4 in their Clio Rally4.

Italian Gravel Rally Championship

Clio Rally5 enjoyed further success on the Italian national scene with a class hat-trick led by Andrea Addis and Giuseppe Pirisinu at Rally dei Nuraghi e del Vermentino. Clio Rally3 also put in a solid performance with a double podium finish thanks to the crews of Maurizio Pusceddu and Veronica Cottu, and Ludwig Zigliani and Sara Montavoci.

Romanian Rally Championship

The crew of Samuil Mircea and George Marinescu won in RO5, while also finishing third among front-wheel drive cars at round seven of the season, Raliul Vâlcii, in their Clio Rally5. The Romanian thus consolidated his lead in his class in the championship, extending his lead in the Clio Rally5 Challenge, where he recorded his fourth victory in six rallies so far this season.

Swiss Rally Championship

Clio Rally3 and Clio Rally5 were also winners in Switzerland at the New Rally del Ticino, round four of the season. Bruno Felix and Giulia Toletti set the pace in RC3, as did Michele Chiesa and Lorenzo Molteni, leaders of a seven-strong Clio Rally5 contingent in RC5 and fourth in the Swiss Rally Cup.

French Rally Cup

Clio Rally3 caused a stir by winning the Rallye de l’Épine Avant Pays Savoyard with Jérémi Ancian and Sandra Cortinovis. Clio Rally5 also claimed victory with Nicolas Lods and Alex Richard. Both models also won the Ronde de Quarré-les-Tombes with Thierry Cassard − Mathéo Terret and Frédéric Aizier − Aurélien Fleurot, and Rallye des Noix de Firminy with Gérard Delorme − Sophie Bert and Clément Soy − Julie Viallet.

Meanwhile, Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 won their respective categories at Rallye des Centurions, securing third place overall for Sylvain Fouteret and Juliette Lewandowski, and victory for Antoine Quilico and Aline Bertrand. Lastly, Clio Rally5 won with Julien Charnay and Charlotte Baille at Rallye de l’Ardèche, Guillaume Halbourg and Jérémy Thiebaut at Rallye des Boucles de Seine, and Jérôme Potard and Jonathan Sponem at Rallye de l’Alsace Bossue.

And elsewhere…

In Italy, Matteo Giordano and Manuela Siragusa led a lockout of the top three for Clio Rally3, whilst Clio Rally5 was victorious with the duos Christian Buccino - Daniela Stagno and Chiara Lombardi - Federica Mauri at Rally Valli della Carnia. Clio Rally5 even secured an overall podium finish with Nicola Giatti and Fabio Gressani in the Alpe Adria Cup.

Clio Rally3 also impressed in Slovenia with Hermann and Ursula Gaßner at Rally Nova Gorica. Finishing second in the Mitropa Rally Cup, the crew extended their lead in the general classification ahead of the season finale. Hubert Kowalczyk and Daniel Dymurski finished as runners-up in Rally3 and second in the Junior category of the European Rally Trophy. On the same roads, Luka Brus and Enej Bobič won D1 and RC5 to consolidate their lead on the national scene in their Clio Rally5.

In Finland, Clio Rally3 took the overall podium at the Juuka Ralli, with second place overall and the class victory for Charles Tsjoen and Eddy Chevaillier.

Clio Rally4 and Clio Rally5 excelled at Rali Municípios de Câmara de Lobos e Funchal (Portugal), achieving podium finishes in the two-wheel drive and RC4 categories for Vasco Silva and Tiago Fernandes, who remain leaders in the Madeira Two-Wheel Drive Rally Championship. Rui Cortez and Rui Correia dominated in RC5 in their Clio Rally5.

Lastly, Clio Rally5 won with Manuel Guaggenti and Luca Vitanza in round four of the Ability Rally Stage Concordia (Italy), as well as with Vasco Tintim and Francisco Ponte at Rali de Ourique - Capital do Porco Alentejano - Encivil (Portugal).
